Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe
Voted as the World’s Best Horse race and one of the greatest sporting events in the world, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is the richest Group 1 flat horse race in France with a prize money of $5 million Euros.
Ever since the first race was run in 1920, it has always attracted the best horses and finest jockeys from over the world to compete in this event.
The race is open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older and will be run over the distance of 2,400 metres at the Paris Longchamp racecourse on Sunday, 2 October 2022.
Popularly referred to as the "Arc", its roll of honour features many highly acclaimed horses, and its winners are often crowned as World Champions.
A slogan of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, first used on a promotional poster in 2003, describes the event as "Ce n'est pas une course, c'est un monument" — "It's not a race, it's a monument".
