About Kranji Mile

The Kranji Mile was first introduced in 2000 to celebrate the opening of Kranji Racecourse in Singapore. It is a Singapore Group 1 race ran over a distance of 1,600 metres (8 furlongs) under Weight-For-Age condition. It is open to horses aged three years old and older.

Previously, the Kranji Mile was held in October of each year and was the first leg of the Singapore Triple Crown Series. In 2018, the Kranji Mile was moved forward to May in the calendar to replace the discontinued Singapore Airlines International Cup. The race was open to international horses by invitation.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the race was limited to only participation of local horses and is run as the richest mile race in Singapore for 2022.
